Point of sale (POS)

A till that keeps up sells, records, and closes the shift accurately

A fast touch screen, restaurant tables, a kitchen display, split payments, promotions, shifts and offline operation — connected to inventory, accounting and e-invoicing, so stock deducts in real time, the sale posts itself, and the shift closes on a reconciled count rather than an estimate.

  • Touch and barcode selling
  • Tables and kitchen display
  • Mada, cards and split payment
  • Shifts closed on a matched count
  • Keeps selling when the line drops

Direct answers

The questions asked first

Is it suitable for a restaurant or a café?

Yes, and it is the case we implement most: tables and open orders, adding items to an order after it opens, a kitchen display that routes items to the right station, editing an order or cancelling a line with a reason, splitting the bill across several payments, variable-price items (weight or add-ons), and printing at several points (till, kitchen, bar). We configure the kitchen display around your actual preparation flow, not a ready template.

Does the till keep working when the internet drops?

Yes. The till runs in offline mode, records sales locally and syncs them when the connection returns, so selling does not stop because of the network. But we say plainly that syncing is not magic: it needs the products and prices prepared correctly in advance, a review of the pending sales list once the line is back, and we verify the network and devices during configuration before relying on this mode at peak time.

Does it support Mada, cards, barcode scanners and receipt printers?

Yes, with compatible hardware. Before anything is relied on we verify each device’s model and how it connects: barcode scanner, receipt printer, cash drawer, customer display and payment terminal. On electronic payment specifically: we verify the provider you use and its ability to integrate, and we claim no certification from any payment scheme or device manufacturer — that evidence comes from the provider itself.

Why not just keep a standalone till?

Because the difference is not the sale, it is what happens after it. A standalone till prints a receipt but does not deduct stock, does not create an accounting entry, does not connect the e-invoice to the customer and their tax number, and does not show which item ran out or which cashier is short. With Odoo, stock deducts in real time, the sale posts itself, the invoice is issued from the same data, the shift closes on a count that matches it, and management reads all of it from a report rather than from notebooks.

Anatomy

What the till is made of

Eight elements on one screen, feeding inventory and accounting from the same movement the sale created.

A fast selling screen

A touch grid with search and barcode, fast quantity entry, and fewer steps between opening the screen and printing the receipt.

Fewer steps per sale

Tables and open orders

A table map, an order that stays open for additions, moving or merging tables, and splitting the bill at payment.

Built for restaurants

Kitchen display

Items route to the right station when the order is confirmed, with preparation status and calling instead of shouting across the pass.

The order reaches the right station

Multiple payments

Cash, Mada, card and wallet, splitting one bill across several payment methods, with a receipt showing each part.

One bill, several payments

Promotions, discounts and price lists

A discount on an item, a bill or a customer; combined promotions with a condition and an outcome; and a price list per branch or time window.

Discounts by rule, not by mental maths

Order edits and returns

Editing an open order or cancelling a line with a recorded reason, and returning against the original invoice reference rather than opening a new case.

Every return has a reference

Shifts and cashiers

A shift per cashier with an opening balance and a closing cash count, so each shift carries its own responsibility instead of blurring the whole day.

Each shift is accountable

Offline operation and sync

Selling continues when the network drops and syncs when it returns — with a pending list that gets reviewed rather than left alone.

The network does not stop the sale

The till cycle

The till cycle

Six steps that repeat every shift, the first and last of which are a cash count — because a difference should surface at closing, not at month end.

  1. 01

    Open the shift

Counting the opening cash and assigning the cashier and any assistant, so the opening balance is known before the first sale.

Output: an open shift with an opening balance

  2. 02

    Sell

Adding items by touch or scan, or from a table, adjusting quantity or add-ons before payment.

Output: an order ready to pay

  3. 03

    Pay and receipt

Cash, Mada, card or a split, then a printed or sent receipt, and an e-invoice from the same data.

Output: a recorded payment and a receipt

  4. 04

    Prepare and hand over

The order reaches the kitchen or the bar, and its status is followed through to handover or packing for delivery.

    Output: a prepared, tracked order

  5. 05

    Return and discount

A return against the invoice reference, or a discount inside the cashier’s authority and otherwise with supervisor approval — no verbal exceptions.

Output: a movement with a recorded reason

  6. 06

    Close and reconcile

Counting the cash against what the system recorded, then posting the shift’s sales to accounting and deducting stock.

Output: an explained difference and posted entries

Controls

Control over the till

Controls we configure in the system: who may discount, who may open the drawer, and how the shift is closed.

Cashier and discount rights

Who sells, who discounts and up to what limit, and who may void a line — set by role and permission, with supervisor approval above the limit.

Opening the drawer without a sale

Opening the drawer outside a sale is recorded with its reason and the name behind it, so it appears in the closing report instead of nowhere.

A mandatory shift close

A new shift cannot open before the previous one is closed with a cash count, so differences do not accumulate over a week.

Every void and return is logged

Who voided a line and why, who processed a return and when — the record that separates a mistake from misuse during review.

Reconciling the till with accounting

Shift sales, payment methods and the cash difference post to accounting, matching the cash accounts to reality.

Reporting

The reports read at the end of the day

What management and finance need: what sold, at what margin, sold by whom, and what was cancelled or returned.

Sales per cashier and shift

What each cashier sold, the closing difference per shift, and whether it repeats with the same person.

Best-selling items

Items and quantities by hour and day, to plan preparation and supply around actual demand.

Margin and discounts

Profit after discount per item, to expose what sells a lot but earns little.

Voids and returns

The void rate per cashier and per station — the first thing to review when differences rise.

Shift and period performance

Comparing shifts and peak against quiet hours, to place the team where the demand actually is.

Branch comparison

Each branch’s sales, margins and cash difference in one report, instead of collecting paper sheets.

Businesses

Businesses POS fits

We configure the screen around each business: a restaurant’s menu and tables are not a pharmacy’s prescriptions, and both run on the same system.

Restaurants

Tables and open orders, a kitchen display per station, order edits, split bills, and preparation for delivery or pickup.

The restaurant fit

Cafés and bakeries

Fast selling with few items and add-ons, weighed bakery goods, and orders prepared immediately at the bar.

Speed at peak hour

Groceries and supermarkets

Barcode scanning, weighed items, fast checkout, and a direct link to stock, supply and reordering rules.

Barcode, weight and speed

Fashion retail and shops

Sizes, colours and product variants, returns against the invoice reference, and price lists by season or branch.

Variants and seasons

Pharmacies

Barcode selling, expiry alerts, lot tracking, and prescription items that need accurate recording.

Lot and expiry tracking

Gold and jewellery

Pricing by weight, karat and making charge, tying the invoice to the day’s rate, and tracking each piece by barcode or number.

Weight, karat and making charge

Salons and services

Selling a service rather than an item, with appointments and technicians, and retail products on the same invoice.

Service and product on one bill

Kiosks and mobile selling

A till on a tablet or phone that works offline — for exhibitions, kiosks and field selling.

Sell from anywhere

Integration

The till is not an island

Every sale deducts stock, creates its entry, issues its invoice and sends its preparation — from the same movement.

Inventory

Every sale deducts from the warehouse in real time, so nothing sells that is not there and the count does not wait for month end.

Accounting

Sales, payment methods and the cash difference post automatically, matching the cash accounts with no double entry.

Kitchen and preparation

Routing items to stations and tracking preparation status, with printing in the kitchen or at the bar where needed.

eCommerce

The same stock and the same prices across the till and the online store, with a branch-pickup option.

E-invoicing

The invoice is issued from the sale data itself with its QR code, so it is never retyped or forgotten in a rush.

FAQ

Questions asked before signing

Direct answers on hardware, installation, responsibility and what the system does not do — without inflation.

Do we need new hardware, or can you work with what we have?

We start with what you have: we check the printer, barcode scanner, cash drawer, screen and payment terminal, and tell you what works and what needs replacing. If you do need to buy, we give you a list of required specifications rather than one brand, so you can compare prices yourself — we do not sell hardware and take no commission from a supplier.

What is typically out of scope in a POS implementation?

Supplying hardware, electrical work, network cabling and mechanical printer maintenance, contracting with your payment provider or bank (we integrate technically only), setting your selling prices and discount policy, and tax advice. We configure the till, items, prices and permissions and train the team to run the day.

Does the till run on a tablet or a phone?

Yes. The till can run in a browser on a tablet or a computer, and on a phone for businesses selling in the field or at exhibitions. We recommend a screen size and accessories suited to fast use — a barcode scanner and a receipt printer — because touch alone is not enough at peak time. We settle that during analysis, based on your operation and how many tills you need.

We are a systems implementation and integration company, not a certification body, a payment-provider agent or a hardware manufacturer. We configure the till, products, prices and permissions and train the team; cash-count accuracy, device safety and compatibility, and statutory compliance remain the client’s responsibility.
